EXCAVATIONS AT EAST FARLEIGH
Excavations at East Farleigh have now ceased. The site has not been fully excavated, however, our work on the site from 2005 - 2023 has given us a valuable insight into the archaeology in this area adjacent to the river Medway. An interim report can be found in 'Published Works' and in the 2022 edition of Archaeologia Cantiana. More could be done in the future at this site and we hope that the work that MAAG have undertaken will be built on one day to answer some of the remaining unanswered questions.
MAAG would like to thank the various landowners at the East Farleigh site without whom we would not be able to do our work. It is their imagination and community spirit that allow us to extend our knowledge of the past in this area.
The site is also a memorial to everyone who gave up their time and effort to make such an important archaeological endeavour possible. Especially those who are sadly no longer with us, Bryan Boughan, Trevor Simmons and of course our former Director Albert Daniels. Thank you all.
